Tight-access pickups

GARAGE TOWING

A garage pickup is an access problem as much as a towing problem. Clear dimensions help avoid sending the wrong equipment.

Measure the limiting point

The posted garage entrance height may not be the lowest point. Note overhead pipes, ramps, sharp turns, narrow stalls, and the vehicle’s level. Do not guess if you cannot safely measure; report the posted clearance and visible restrictions.

Explain whether the car moves

A car that can roll and steer is different from one with a locked wheel, broken suspension, no keys, or no neutral gear. Tell us whether another vehicle blocks the exit and whether property staff can provide access.

Confirm permission and destination

You must be authorized to move the vehicle, and building rules may require a manager or security approval. The dispatcher can assess options only after the garage and destination details are known. Some locations cannot be served safely.

Have these details ready

  • Posted height and level
  • Ramp, turn, and stall constraints
  • Whether the car rolls and steers
  • Property access and destination
